Mirra is a first-of-its-kind tool that empowers anyone to create immersive Virtual and Augmented Reality experiences. Mirra needed to be web-based, beautifully designed, and simple to use for people with no 3D experience. Mirra also had to work on everything from Oculus Rift and HTC Vive to Apple ARKit and Google ARCore. The amount of data being transferred and the traffic requirements meant that even the first release of Mirra would need to be built for scale. Using Engineering and DevOps best practices honed across years of Presence projects, our team built a robust, cloud-based infrastructure capable of handling large server-loads without issue. Meanwhile, continuous integration, continuous deployment, and large test suites were developed to enhance productivity and deploy new code in minutes.
