Presence is a proud sponsor of SPARK 2021. This new virtual learning experience, to be held Oct. 12-14, is hosted by the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities and Council on Accreditation (Alliance-COA) to convene leaders from across the human services ecosystem and activate the power of the social sector.
Fueled by a commitment to advance equity and improve the well-being of all people, this event will elevate important conversations around some of today’s most vexing challenges and inspire participants to implement innovative practice, policy, and research. This event also signals an exciting new era for the sector, as Alliance-COA will be launching its new organization during the opening session.
Headliners Ibram X. Kendi, author of How to Be an Antiracist, and Heather McGhee, author of The Sum of Us, will challenge and deepen participants’ thinking about racism and how to advance equity. As a leading antiracist scholar, Kendi is the bestselling author of seven books and was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine in 2020. As a renowned expert on the American economy, McGhee reveals the devastating true cost of racism—not just for people of color, but for everyone in her viral TED talk and bestselling book.
Individual sessions address critical topics for furthering our work to advance equity, including navigating your personal equity journey, concurrently tackling adverse childhood experiences and racism, effective collective impact approaches for reducing racial disparities, and more.
